PLASMA PEN

PLASMA PEN

  • PLASMA PEN - DRAMATIC LONG LASTING RESULTS!

No incision, no stitches, and no bandages. Just pure results. The Plasma Pen is the latest in the cutting-edge plasma application devices for non-surgical, non-invasive skin lifting, tightening, and rejuvenation. The Plasma Pen is a hand-held device that delivers energy to the skin, stimulating fibroblasts; the collagen-producing cells that are essential to youthful-looking skin. This cosmetic procedure offers an improved and more precise method of treating ageing conditions such as an eye lift, mouth lift, or neck lift.

The Plasma Pen is an FDA approved device used to perform fibroblast therapy to stimulate the production of collagen in the skin. The Plasma Pen is a device that imparts energy into the air and ionizes the gas that’s in the air, nitrogen, oxygen, and creates a plasma stream. This device hugely popular in Asia and Europe as a proven anti-ageing treatment. As a result, the plasma treatment, the skin is tightened, resurfaced, and regenerated precisely in the areas of skin our patients need.

A consultation is required prior to the treatment.

  • In nature, there are four states of matter – solids, liquids, gases and plasma. Matter only becomes a plasma when enough energy is delivered to split the atoms into electrons and the output of this is a ‘plasma cloud’ of charged particles which consist of free radicals, positively charged ions and negatively charged electrons and molecules.

Our device creates an electrical discharge between two electrodes which are separated by an ‘insulating dielectric barrier’. As the charge collects on the surface of our dielectric barrier, it discharges as a flash of plasma within millionths of a second. An intelligent combination of the design of our device and its continuous direct energy source ionises the nitrogen and oxygen in the air to create a plasma gas which is then both sustained and continuous in line with the unique fingertip control and on-demand nature of our Plasma Pen device. Although we are creating collisions between molecules and causing the emission of energetic photons, the energy required to do this is actually minimal so our device is (and only needs to be) low-voltage. The plasma we create with our device transfers to the skin with absolute precision and does not harm any of the surrounding tissue.

The first and most immediate effect is delivered to the outer layer of the epidermis where we create external micro-trauma which helps immediately contract and tighten the skin. The next major effect is that the plasma simultaneously penetrates down into the fibroblasts which are contained deeper within the dermis below and, in doing so, we stimulate accelerated fibroblast division and migration, as well as encouraging neovascularisation – the natural formation of new blood vessels and the release of growth factors. These growth factors include fibroblast growth factors, platelet-derived endothelial growth factors and cytokines. Cytokines are small proteins that are very important in cell signalling and which affect the behaviour of cells around them. They help modulate our immune response, they regulate cell maturation (aging) and quarterback the growth of new cells. They are particularly important in directing our bodies response to the inflammation trauma that we cause because they stimulate both cell repair and new cell reproduction..

  • Anticoagulants are medicines that help prevent blood clots. They’re usually given to people at a high risk of getting clots so as to reduce their chances of developing serious conditions such as strokes and heart attacks. Anticoagulant drugs (Warfarin for example but also Ivaroxaban/Xarelto, Dabigatran/Pradaxa, Apixaban/Eliquis, Edoxaban/Lixiana and others) are a major contraindication for us and your technicians insurer and people using them are NOT to be treated with Plasma Pen because they thin the blood (or rather they interrupt the process involved in the formation of blood clots so while they’re sometimes called “blood-thinning” medicines, they don’t actually make the blood thinner.

Anyway, the healing of surgical and traumatic wounds – like the micro-traumas we cause with Plasma Pen – specifically and intentionally involves the clotting process, inflammation, cell proliferation and tissue remodelling. Anticoagulants can slow and delay this healing process. Delayed healing of traumatic wounds can cause persistent bleeding, increased wound seepage and, in some cases, failed wound closure. Delayed wound healing can also lead to infection among other undesirable things.

  • On the Fitzpatrick Skin Type Scale (The Fitzpatrick Skin Type is a skin classification system developed in 1975 by Thomas Fitzpatrick, MD, of Harvard Medical School), only skin types I, II and III can safely be treated with Plasma Pen. Anything higher and you are risking hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation. Some providers claim to be able to treat any skin type. This is generally untrue or at the very least misleading and is usually only because they are perhaps selling medical grade devices to cosmetic surgeons (who are then able to self-prescribe and fix any damage that they do) and/or because the treatments they are performing are merely “spray” rejuvenation only (i.e. they are not targeting the dermis and are only working on the epidermis.

  • Plasma Pen delivers exceptionally long-lasting results. From all observations, clinical trials and real-world experience, about three years is normal. Once the skin is tightened then it is actually permanent. However, your skin will still continue to age and this will happen at different rates based on genetics, lifestyle choices and free radicals so although we suggest treatment results will last for around 3 years, some clients will experience longer-lasting results than others. Remember too that in addition to rejuvenation, we are actually helping repair the scaffolding of the skin with our fibroblasting to mitigate the ageing process.

If, for example, we treat your smokers’ lines and you then continue to smoke then results may possibly not be as long lasting compared to if you had stopped. If we make your eyelid hoods or bags disappear then that is also a permanent effect although, of course, they could potentially grow back in years to come.

  • Using my Technique the results seen on my page are after only ONE treatment. I do NOT require my clients to do multiple sessions to achieve the results generally obtained through multiple sessions. This is important as I believe in doing a much longer treatment and booking only 1 client per day

  • Plasma Pen is really not an expensive treatment given the amazing results our technicians will deliver for you. On average, most new single Plasma Pen treatments are priced by our Elite Technicians at around £500 per area per treatment and this would be for areas like the upper or lower eyelids (non-surgical blepharoplasty – the equivalent price for an invasive cosmetic surgery procedure of that nature which will likely give the exact same results is £3,000 to £6,000 so price is relative). More complex and more time-consuming procedures, such as a full face-lift, a neck or a forehead lift, breast lift or a jawline augmentation will likely be priced significantly higher as there is a great deal more time and work required. Equally, an Oral Commissures treatment, for example, may be priced much lower. Most technicians will offer discounts for booking extra treatments, receiving multiple procedures spread over a course of treatment or also having work on a smaller area alongside your main treatment. See here for a list of the type of treatments our technicians deliver each and every day.

Plasma Pen is a highly sought-after, in-demand and en-vogue treatment and it is not over-commercialised. Consider the many expensive and invasive alternatives out there like cosmetic surgery, think about the short term results but long term expense of some treatments like fillers and botox and think about other services and solutions which are often grossly inferior to ours or at least incomparable. Price integrity among our technicians is important because they all make a considerable financial and time investment in delivering you this incredible treatment – not just in terms of the equipment and training they invest in but in the insurance and all the pre and post treatment product they use on you, as well as in their overhead costs of just delivering treatment to you in a safe, hygienic, insured and professional way. The results possible with Plasma Pen are stunning and our technicians make enormous efforts to deliver you highly detailed consultations, the best aftercare, the most professional follow-up and well-devised and well-executed treatment plans that deliver you the results you are looking for and expect.

It’s not something where you should be looking to ‘cut corners’ or ‘buy cheap’. Our technicians have the worlds best plasma device. They have the best training and support. They offer the best solution that savvy clients like you want. It’s an old adage but if you buy cheap you will buy twice. Please don’t compromise on quality by buying a cheap treatment with a cheap plastic device or an unknown plastic device because you have too much to lose if it all goes wrong, if you suffer micropigmentation, scarring or any other negative consequence.

Ask yourself this – if you needed a tooth extracting would you pay your dentist a fair price to do it safely, perfectly and in a fully insured and painless way or would you instead choose to go to a backstreet provider using a pair of pliers?

PLASMA PEN PRE AND POST CARE

  • Plasma Skin Tightening Pre-Care…

Avoid any kind of tanning - (spray tanning, tanning injections, sun tanning and tanning beds) for 2 to 4 weeks before your treatment. Ideally, you should try to use SPF 5O, to prep your skin for 2 to 4 weeks before your treatment, especially if you are naturally darker-skinned.* If you are displaying signs of cold or flu the treatment should be rescheduled.* Contact lenses must be removed when performing treatment on the upper eyelids.* Skin should not be inflamed in the area we are treating prior to the procedure.* Eyelash extensions receiving upper or lower eyelid treatment MUST have lashes removed prior to treatment and reapplied after 8 weeks.

Avoid any other type of procedures on the same area which you intend to have treated with Plasma Pen, such as laser therapy, chemical peels, Botox, fillers, as this may prevent your treatment from being performed by your technician at the time you want it.

We recommend you avoid sun-tanning, spray-tanning, tanning injections and sunbeds for 4 to 6 weeks before your treatment. Ideally, we recommend using SPF-40 to prep your skin for 2 to 4 weeks before your treatment, especially if you are naturally darker-skinned. You may even wish to consider a Pre-Treatment product using a Tyrosinase Inhibitor as this can help prevent the overproduction of pigment in the skin. Tyrosinase Inhibitors are not just useful for those who suffer from hyperpigmentation but for all clients – even those with healthy, even skin.* No facial acids (Retin A, salicylic, glycolic) 14 days before or 21 days after Plasma Pen.* No Botox or fillers 21 days before or after Plasma Pen.* No Micro-needling/PRP 21 days before or after Plasma Pen.* No laser or peels (depending on the intensity of peel) for 90 days before or after Plasma Pen.* Surgical procedures like facelifts you must wait at least 9 months post-op / before Plasma Pen.* Take Vitamin C to help with the healing process.

  • OUR TOP TIPS FOR PLASMA FIBROBLAST AFTERCARE

In order to provide the best service possible to our technicians and their clients, here is a list of our recommendations,

top tips, best practices, and advice to consider in your own personal plasma aftercare regime:

    TEXT

Over the first few days, plasma crusts will form on the skin. Do not pick these! They will naturally fall off after a few days.

Keep the plasma crusts moist by applying our Plasma Pen aloe vera gel up to three times a day. This will provide relief from itching and assist the healing process.

There may be some mild swelling up to 5-days post-treatment. This is completely normal, and usually only very minor.

You must not cover the treated area with plasters, dressings, make-up or creams until the area is healed, and only use the healing creams provided by your technician.

Taking Vitamin C supplements during the healing process can give your immune system the big boost it may need to repair.

Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption in the run up to your treatment, and during the healing process. Try to avoid smoking after the treatment as much as possible.

Wear SPF 50+ sunscreen and facial creams every single day in the run up to the treatment and after the healing process for up to 12 weeks.

We recommend you avoid exercising within the first few days after a treatment as the heat, steam or sweat may add to inflammation caused by the treatment.

    Aftercare

Mature with your skin, not against it...

The Fibroblast Plasma Pen treatment will produce side-effects after the procedure. This is common and normal. The intensity and duration of your side effects depends on the treatment aggressiveness and your individual healing characteristics. Generally, clients who are treated more aggressively experience more intense side-effects that last longer. However, some clients have greater than expected reactions to less aggressive treatments and others have fewer side-effects to aggressive treatments than would ordinarily be expected.

    Eye Treatment Area

Day of treatment: Some swelling. Feels hot like a sunburn. This feeling can last for up to 24 hours.

Day 1 (Next day post-treatment): Lots of swelling (the most swelling), especially in the evening.

    Day 2: Swelling can continue.

Day 3: Itchy sensation and tightness. Swelling decreases. Dots dry and may start to fall off.

    Swelling

You will notice most of the swelling on the first morning after treatment, particularly around the eyes. Swelling usually lasts two to three days. To minimise swelling do the following:

Apply cold compresses to the treatment area for 10 minutes of every hour on the day of treatment, until you go to bed. Make sure a cold pack is wrapped in paper towel and is lightly dabbed onto the skin using an ‘on, off, on, off’ routine to apply. By using this routine and having the cold pack wrap, it ensures that the dots will not get stuck onto the cold pack and will not be peeled off the skin.

Sleep elevated the first night. Use as many pillows as you can tolerate.

Apply arnica gel (chemist sells) and avoid blood thinners such as Panadol and alcohol, ensure to drink lots of water.

    Heat/Sunburn/Stinging

Feeling hot like a sunburn stinging sensation is normal immediately after the treatment and for the rest of that night. To minimise this hot feeling, apply a paper towel wrapped cold pack and apply the above routine.

    Itchiness

You will start to feel itchy from the 3rd day. Do not pick at the dots. The itchiness sensation means that the dots are starting to heal and are getting ready to dry and fall off.

    Dry skin

Your skin may feel dry, peel or flake. You may notice a “sandpaper” texture a few days after treatment. This is the treated tissue working its way out of your body as new fresh skin is regenerated.

    Redness

Most redness resolves during the first week after treatment, but a rosy “glow” can remain for several weeks. Applying Vitamin c 20% can reduce redness and any concerns of pigmentation. If you are a darker Fitzpatrick skin type and susceptible to pigmentation, it is strongly recommended to apply Vitamin C once the carbon crusts have fallen off.

Bronzing, Crusting and Small Dark Dots

The Fibroblast Plasma Pen treatment causes destruction to microscopic cylinders of skin which then exfoliates during the healing process. The treatment can make the skin look bronzed, or small areas appear crusted (do not try to scratch them off). Scratching off any carbon deposits (dots) may result in infection, scarring and hypo-pigmentation of the skin that may not be able to be reversed. Please refrain from scratching any areas that are healing.

    Raw Skin

If you develop areas of raw skin post treatment, keep them moist with the provided cream. You do not need to apply band-aids, but keep the areas moist and do not pick at them. They will heal very rapidly on their own and without problems.

    Weeping

Initially, after treatment and for a day or so afterward, there may be occasional weeping (yellow pus). This is simply plasma and is a natural healing response. This simply flakes off after a few days but in some cases can take over 1 week.

How to Care for Your Skin After Treatment

    For 1 week After Treatment

Wash the area gently with warm water, carefully pat dry. Apply a small pea size of Aftercare cream (sachet) 2 x per day

    No Makeup

    No Swimming

Do not use Anti Ageing Creams (Retinols, Tretonin, Retin A)

    No Sauna

Do not cover the treated area with bandages etc

    For 2 weeks After Treatment

Moisturise the area 2 x per day, using products that are hydrating and repairing eg Cosmetic Skin Solutions products or Murad. Ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid help heal the skin as well as hydrating it.

Do not use AHA’s Glycolics or Retinols

    Do not use Exfoliating Products

YOU WILL HAVE A TWO WEEK FOLLOW UP SCHEDULED IN POST YOUR INITIAL APPOINTMENT TO HAVE YOUR SKIN ASSESSED. FAILURE TO MAKE THIS APPOINTMENT AND HAVING ADVERSE REACTIONS UNSIGHTED BY THE DIRECTOR CAN RESULT IN UNDESIRED RESULTS. THIS IS THE CLIENT'S RESPONSIBILITY TO ATTEND THIS APPOINTMENT.

At all time during the course of Treatments (1-6 weeks)

Sun exposure should be avoided, if not, wear 50+ Sunscreen

Ingredients such at Hyaluronic Acid help heal the skin as well as hydrating it. You want to ensure that the skin is prevented from drying out and peeling.

    No Sun beds

    Skin Care Products

All of your skin care products should be non-irritating and non-clogging for the first week or so after the treatment.

    Sunscreen

You should first apply sunscreen 20 minutes before going outside, and again, immediately before. After that, reapply your sunscreen every 2 hours. If direct sun exposure is necessary, wear a hat and clothing that covers the treated area. Use this regimen during the healing period and always.

    Moisturiser

Remember that peeling and/or flaking is normal during the healing process. Therefore, the product should be non-irritating and non-clogging, or else you could develop breakouts. During the healing period your normal moisturiser may be too occlusive, so please consider using our aftercare products. Reapply whenever your skin feels dry.

Scrubs, Toners, Glycolic Acid, and Retin A

Your skin will be sensitive for the first week or so after treatment, so do not use products that will cause irritation during this time. Do not use abrasive scrubs, toners, or products that contain glycolyic acids or Retin A. Read the product labels.
